心口 = solar plexus / solar plex / pit of stomach / the heart's mouth

心 = heart
口 = mouth

心口 the solar plexus is the center of the body. It is a "nerve plexus in the abdomen that is situated behind the stomach and in front of the aorta" - Webster Dictionary. It's this center that is at the core and intention of every move within Wing Chun. The solar plex is a crucial, critical part of the body and the movements in Wing Chun is redirecting force or energy away from it to protect it.

It's also from this center which the 中心 center line is based.

3.23.23 Day 12
Sifu and Si-hing John had introduced the concept and of the "solar plexus" day 1. It was on day 12 when talking to my dad, I realized what the translation was. Dad referred to that part of the body, the core as 心口 and in that moment, translating in my head, "the mouth of the heart/heart's mouth – I realized 心口 must have been the Cantonese word for "solar plexus".
